§ 90.071 ANIMAL WELFARE OFFICER.
   The village shall provide an Animal Welfare Officer in charge of the animal shelter whose duties shall include:
   (A)   The impounding of all animals delivered to him or her;
   (B)   The maintenance of suitable means for impounding such animals;
   (C)   The feeding, maintenance and humane treatment of all animals impounded therein;
   (D)   The keeping of each animal separate from all other animals therein;
   (E)   The maintenance of a register in which he or she shall enter immediately upon receiving an animal the breed, color, sex, age and, if licensed, the name and address of the owner, and the number of the license tag. The disposition of such animal shall be entered in the register at the proper time; and
   (F)   The giving of notice to the owner of a licensed animal by telephone, mail or otherwise, or the exercise of a reasonable effort to ascertain and notify the owner of any unlicensed animal impounded. If the owner of any animal is not ascertained within 24 hours after impounding, such officer shall cause public notice to be made thereof by posting a copy of the description of such animal and the date of impounding at the shelter.
