§ 90.021 DUTIES OF OWNER UPON RECLAIMING DOG OR CAT.
   (A)   An owner may reclaim any dog or cat impounded under the provisions of this subchapter within seven days after the period for observing the dog or cat has expired by paying the costs incurred during the observation period, and the cost of a license if the dog was unlicensed, and the costs of a rabies vaccination shot if the owner cannot prove the dog or cat has been properly vaccinated as provided in this chapter.
   (B)   If the owner or keeper does not claim the dog or cat within this time, then any person may redeem it by making like payments.
   (C)   If the dog or cat is not claimed as set forth herein, it shall be destroyed in a humane manner, and any unpaid costs incurred by a licensed veterinarian in compliance with this subchapter shall be paid to the veterinarian in an amount not to exceed $8 upon receipt by the village of an itemized bill setting forth the costs.
