§ 52.024 SPECIFICATION OF MATERIALS FOR WATER MAINS AND HOUSE SERVICE LINES.
   (A)   Water mains.
      (1)   Water distribution facilities shall include supply mains of not less than six inches diameter installed at a minimum depth of four foot, six inches. Supply mains shall conform to one of the two following alternates:
         (a)   Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic pipe conforming to ASTM D-2241 and approved by the National Sanitation Foundation (N.S.F.) Standard 14. The pipe shall have a minimum working pressure of 160 p.s.i. with a standard dimension ratio (outside diameter of pipe divided by the wall thickness) of 26. The pipe shall have a gasketed joint with an integral bell which is a homogeneous part of the pipe. The pipe shall conform to ASTM D-3139 and the gasket shall conform to ASTM F-477. All pipe fittings shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of the same material as the supply main or shall be mechanical joint ductile iron conforming to AWWA Specification for Class D fittings; or
         (b)   Ductile iron pipe conforming to AWWA (American Waterworks Association) 1-151 and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) A 21.51. The pipe shall be cement lined in accordance with AWWA C-104 and ANSI A21.4. Joints shall be flanged mechanical joints or “push-on” rubber gaskets conforming to AWWA C111 and ANSI A21.11.
      (2)   All fittings, valves, hydrants and water stub terminals to the property line of each lot shall be installed to serve all properties within any subdivision. The water supply system shall be designed in accordance with the requirements of the state’s Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and the village’s Water Department. All water mains shall be installed in public rights-of-way or in dedicated easements.
   (B)   House service lines. House service lines shall be minimum of three-fourths inch diameter and shall be constructed of one of the two following materials:
      (1)   Type “K” copper with a working pressure of 200 p.s.i. and approved by the National Sanitation Foundation; or
      (2)   Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic water pipe conforming to ASTM D-2441 with and SDR of 21 and a working pressure of 200 p.s.i.
