§ 51.002 QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP.
   (A)   All workmanship in connection with the construction of any sewer or house sanitary connection or house storm drain shall be of such character as to fully secure the results sought be obtained in all the sections of this chapter.
   (B)   Sanitary sewers shall be a minimum of eight inches in diameter and shall be designed in accordance with requirements of the state’s Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and the village’s Sewer Department. All sewers shall be constructed and installed in public rights-of-way or in dedicated easements. Sanitary sewers shall be constructed of one of the following three materials:
      (1)   Extra strength vitrified clay pipe conforming to ASTM C-700 with joints conforming to ASTM C-425;
      (2)   Ductile iron pipe conforming to AWWA C-151 and ANSI A 21.51. The pipe shall be cement lined in accordance with AWWA C104 and ANSI A21.4. The pipe shall be coated on the exterior with a petroleum-asphaltic coating one mil thick. The pipe shall be Class 50; or
      (3)   Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic pipe conforming to ASTM - 3034. The pipe shall have a standard dimension ratio (outside diameter divided by wall thickness) of 35. The pipe shall have a gasketed joint with an integral bell which is a homogenous part of the pipe. The joint shall conform to ASTM D-3212 and the gasket shall conform to ASTM F-477.
