§ 34.03  HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   The following holidays will be observed by all employees: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Primary Election Day (during an election year), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, General Election Day (during an election year), Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Day After (Friday after Thanksgiving), Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve Day.
   (B)   A full-time salaried or hourly paid employee required to work on a holiday, may carry over to the next calendar year, not more than four holiday leaves/days. At no time will a full-time salaried or hourly paid employee be allowed to carry over more than four holiday leaves/days.
   (C)   If an employee resigns or is terminated during the year, his or her holiday time entitlement will be pro-rated according to the actual number of months worked. Any holiday time taken over the pro-rated amount will be charged for pay back against the employee’s last pay check.
   (D)   The Police Chief’s working day shall consist of 12 hours per day for the purpose of this section.
   (E)   Should a holiday fall on a Saturday, it will normally be observed on the preceding Friday. Should a holiday fall on a Sunday, it will normally be observed on the following Monday.
