Proper care shall be taken during the construction phase to protect the critical root zone from compaction and excessive excavation. Any tree located on town property in the immediate vicinity of any excavation, demolition or construction site of any building, structure, street or utilities work, which has the potential for injury, shall be protected from such injury, as directed by the town. Should a tree become injured beyond the point of recovery as a result of construction activities, the responsible party shall replace the injured tree. (Ord. 2011-1, 3-14-2011)
