The Borough Manager shall be appointed or elected for an indefinite term by a majority vote of all members of the Borough Council. The Manager shall serve at the pleasure of the Council, and may be removed at any time by a majority vote of all members of the Borough Council; provided, however, that the Borough Council shall have the right, in its discretion, to enter into a contract of employment with the Borough Manager setting forth the terms and conditions of his or her employment. The Borough Manager may be removed without cause. At least 30 days before such removal is to become effective, the Council shall furnish the Manager with a written statement setting forth its intention for removal. Likewise, the Manager shall furnish the Council, at least 30 days before resigning, with a written statement setting forth the intention to resign.
