(A) The members of the Fire Department are volunteers, except the Fire Chief, who may be an employee of the city. Volunteer firefighters shall be certified in accordance with state and federal standards.
(B) Volunteer firefighters may receive compensation as may be established by the Mayor and City Council.
(C) Fire Department volunteers shall comply with the provisions of the personnel manual for the city, as it exists or may be amended, insofar as those provisions are applicable to volunteers.
