10-19-11: PUBLIC CONVEYANCES WITHIN HISTORIC PRESERVATION DISTRICTS:
No conveyance or vehicle intended for regular commercial use or as a business endeavor within a historic preservation district, whether for hire or not, shall be issued a permit or license by the city without prior approval by the historic preservation commission on a standard application form. For the purposes of this chapter, any public conveyance or vehicle shall also be deemed a sign or advertising structure. Animal drawn or antique passenger conveyances operating commercially within a historic preservation district shall be either original vehicles manufactured during the period of historic significance, or else a close replica, as practicably identical as possible to the original.
