Any activity that includes the clearing of more than one acre of land and which is not exempt by this chapter, shall be required to have a clearing permit from the county. If the proposed clearing of more than one acre of land is for the purposes of a legal subdivision, then a clearing permit may only be granted upon approval of the tentative plat by the planning and zoning commission.
