6-6-4: SPEED - SPECIAL LIMITS IN CERTAIN AREAS:
It is unlawful to drive any motor vehicle on any street not under the jurisdiction of the state or the county or in an urban district within the city at a speed in excess of thirty (30) miles per hour, or in an alley at a speed in excess of fifteen (15) miles per hour. It is unlawful to drive any vehicle on any highway outside the urban district at a speed of more than that permitted by state law. If the city council sets other limits by ordinance as provided by statute after an engineering or traffic survey, such limits shall govern the rate of speed on the streets indicated in such ordinance. Appropriate signs shall be posted showing such speed limits. It is unlawful to drive any vehicle on any street or highway within the city at a speed exceeding that lawfully set for such street.
