1. Certificates issued in accordance with this chapter shall expire at 12:00 p.m., local time, on December 31, but may be renewed for the next succeeding year period by the payment of the annual renewal fee on or before close of business, January 31, of the next succeeding year.
2. If a person holding a valid certificate of qualification under the provisions of this chapter in any year fails to renew such license before the annual renewal fee is due, as provided in subsection 1 of this section, such person may renew such certificate by the payment of a renewal fee equal to twice the amount of the annual renewal fee as provided by this chapter within ninety (90) days following the aforesaid time of expiration of such certificate.
3. A person holding a certificate of qualification under the provisions of this chapter who fails to procure a renewal of such certificate within ninety (90) days following the time of expiration provided for in subsection 1 of this section hereof, shall be considered as a new applicant and before receiving a new certificate shall be required to meet all the requirements of a new applicant.
4. Application for certificate renewal shall be made on a form furnished by the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, Bureau of Fire Prevention.
