A. Not more than one (1) meter shall be used per property serviced by a single service except where it is desired to have tenants in multiple occupancy on one property metered separately for service provided by the Department, or in the case of sprinkling accounts as defined in these Rules and Regulations.
B. Where this separate metering is desired and multiple occupancy units are involved, outside curb boxes shall be required in a location specified by the Department and a meter installed in each separate unit. Secondary curb boxes shall be located not more than ten feet (10') from the principal curb box. A remote register shall be required for each such meter. Any deviation from this must be approved in writing by the Department after plans are submitted showing locations of secondary curb boxes.
C. Any arrangements existing prior to 1982 that consist of an inside Split is subject to approval by the Director and may be allowed to remain provided, without limitation, that the Department is allowed reasonable and safe access to the units at any time necessary to enforce these Rules and Regulations. If reasonable and safe access is at any time denied or unavailable to the Department, then all units may be subject to action to enforce these Rules and Regulations against the non-complying unit.
D. Conversion from single metering to multiple metering on existing Premises shall be considered a new service and an inside Split shall not be permitted.
