Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2117.59, “Personal Leave from Six (6) to Thirty (30) Calendar Days” or 2117.60, “Personal Leave – More Than Thirty (30) Calendar Days”, an employee may be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of not to exceed two (2) years for the purpose of entering employment by a Bargaining Agent with which the City of Toledo has entered a collective bargaining agreement covering employees of the City of Toledo. This period may be extended on a year-to-year basis by mutual agreement.
