965.10. Speed in the harbor.
   (a)   No person shall operate any vessel over 100 feet in length at an excessive rate of speed in the harbor so as to cause a wake. Vessels under 100 feet shall not be operated at an excessive rate of speed so as to endanger any person or property of any person, having due regard to other boats, or persons, or other objects in or on such waters.
   (b)   No person shall operate any vessel in a manner to cause a wake in:
      (1)   The Ottawa River from the Ohio/Michigan line to the Summit Street Bridge;
         A.   The Ottawa River from the Summit Street Bridge to the Suder Avenue Bridge from sunset to sunrise.
      (2)   The Maumee River from a point between Corbutt Island and the old waterworks crib to a point between the south tip of Delaware Island and the west shore of the Maumee River;
      (3)   The entire Bay View Park Marina Area;
      (4)   The entire Cullen Park lagoon area;
      (5)   The Maumee River adjacent to downtown Toledo which limits are defined as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge at mile 4.30 to the Anthony Wayne Bridge at mile 5.16.

      (6)   An area of the Maumee River bounded on the north by the northwesterly Maumee River Harbor Line, bounded on the east by the westerly edge of the I-75 bridge, bounded on the south by a line parallel to and approximately 642 feet southeasterly of said Harbor Line as measured along a line perpendicular to said Harbor Line, and bounded on the west by a line perpendicular to said Harbor Line, extending from the western end of the old Anderson's grain elevator located on the northeasterly shore, which is approximately 1900 feet west of the western edge of I-75, as measured along said parallel line. Said area as indicated by buoys or markers.

   (c)   The limitations on the creation of wakes prescribed by this section shall not apply to:
      (1)   Water-borne aircraft in the process of landing or taking off in authorized areas;
      (2)   Vessels competing in an authorized race or regatta on a marked racing course; or
      (3)   In an authorized special event as provided herein.
