§ 37.14  SENIORITY.
   (A)   Seniority shall be computed on the basis of uninterrupted length of continuous service with the city.  Employment with other political subdivisions does not apply toward seniority with the city.  A termination of employment lasting less than 3l days may be deemed not to constitute a break in continuous service at the discretion of the City Manager. Once continuous service is broken, unless the employee is reinstated under the aforementioned exception, the employee loses all previously accumulated seniority.
   (B)   An approved leave of absence does not constitute a break in continuous service provided the employee follows the proper procedure for such leave and returns to active service immediately following the expiration of the approved leave.
   (C)   Employees laid off shall retain their seniority for a period of 24 months from the date of layoff.
