§ 129J.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   “FAMILY.
      “Type (A) Family.” One or more persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption living together as a single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit.
      “Type (B) Family.” Two unrelated persons and their children living together as a single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit.
      “Type (C) Family.” A group of not more than three unrelated persons living together as a single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit.
      “Type (D) Family.” A group of two or more persons containing within it one or more Type (A) or Type (B) Families, as defined above in this definition, including a husband and wife married to one another and their children, as well as adults, living together in a dwelling unit as a single housekeeping unit and management, in premises in which the adult occupants are affiliated with a bona fide not- for-profit corporation organized for religious or charitable purposes chartered by the State of Illinois.
   “PRIMARY RESIDENCE.” To be considered a “PRIMARY RESIDENCE”, an owner needs to live in the property for at least nine months out of a 12-month period.
   “SHORT-TERM/VACATION RENTAL.” A single room, dwelling unit, an allocated space, or a portion thereof within the primary structure in a residential zoning district offered for rent for a period shorter than 30 consecutive days to any person other than a member of the owner’s family. The term “SHORT- TERM/VACATION RENTAL” shall not include hotels, motels, or lodging establishments licensed pursuant to Chapter 129A .
