§ 100.01 PLANTING; PERMIT AND SPACE REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)    It shall be unlawful to plant any tree or bush in any public street, parkway, or other public place without having secured a permit therefor. Applications for such permits shall be made to the Village Clerk and referred by him to the Public Works Committee before issuance. All trees and shrubs so planted shall be placed subject to the direction and the approval of the Director of Public Works. No rock gardens, boulders, benches, or fences shall be built or maintained in any parkway.
   (B)    It shall be unlawful to plant, set out, or propagate in any public street, parkway, or other public place any trees except those species on the list of approved trees set by the Department of Public Works.

   (C)    It shall be unlawful for any person to plant or cause to be planted in any parkway within the village any tree or shrub less than three feet from the outer line of the sidewalk. No tree or shrub shall be planted in any parkway or street at a distance less than ten feet from the outer edge of the pavement in the street or that portion of the dedicated street which is commonly used for vehicular travel. No tree or shrub shall be planted in parkways or streets at a distance less than 25 feet from any cross or intersecting street or alley. ('77 Code, § 95.002)
