(A) All employees, while operating or riding in the front seat of a municipal or private vehicle on official business for the village, shall use a safety belt restraining system in the manner prescribed by the manufacturer, in compliance with ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5 § 12-603.1.
(B) The provisions of division (A) of this section shall not apply under the following circumstances:
(1) Persons unable to use the safety belt system for medical or physical reasons, as evidenced by a physician's statement.
(2) Persons occupying a seating position in a vehicle not equipped with a safety belt assembly.
(3) Persons operating a motor vehicle in reverse.
(4) Persons operating a motor vehicle with a model year prior to 1965.
(C) Employees will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action for failing to comply with the provisions of this section.
