(A) A property/business may have up to four flower/accent planters (and stand/pedestals) per entry way within 15 feet of such entrances; and must be:
(1) A minimum of 18 inches high (including pedestal) and in diameter, with a maximum of 29 inches in diameter;
(2) Within a vision clearance area, be limited to a maximum of 36 inches high (which includes the pedestal and height of the plants therein);
(3) Originally constructed as a planter and commercially purchased;
(4) Of weatherproof and sturdy construction (i.e., pottery, cedar, treated metals). Plastic is prohibited as are materials which stain or damage the sidewalk; and
(5) Maintained in a clean and orderly condition and in good repair and plant health at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining a condition which is reasonably free of dirt, algae or rust as well as chipped, faded or cracked exterior coatings.
(B) An annual permit and fee will not be required for planters; however, they must be in compliance with all proper clearances, along with the specifications of this requirement. Planters required as part of a development permit may vary from these specifications, but not the clearances.
