139.06 ACTING CITY ADMINISTRATOR.
   (a)   There is hereby created the position of Acting City Administrator, to be filled on a temporary basis by a person appointed by the Mayor upon the approval of the City Council, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor for a period of time not to exceed six months unless renewed for an additional six month period approved by City Council, and not to exceed one year of service for any reason, and to be compensated at the same rate as the City Administrator.
   (b)   The Acting City Administrator shall have the authority to undertake contractual obligations, appoint or discipline those City employees which the City Administrator could appoint or discipline, and carry out any other duties of the City Administrator required by the Charter or Ordinances of the City of Tiffin. The Acting City Administrator need not establish residency pursuant to Section 6.03(A) of the City Charter unless the person holding such office subsequently is appointed as City Administrator on a full-time basis pursuant to City Charter.
   (c)   The position of Acting City Administrator shall be vacated by the person serving in that capacity upon the written request of the City Administrator to return to duty, except that the positions of the City Administrator and Acting City Administrator may be filled concurrently for a period not to exceed two weeks following the return of the City Administrator to allow for the transition of the duties and responsibilities from the Acting Administrator to the City Administrator.
