133.07 DEFENSE IN ACTIONS INVOLVING CITY OR EMPLOYEES.
   (a)   The Director of Law shall in all instances wherein the City or its employees, officers, boards, and commissions are named as defendants or parties in any actions filed in courts of the State or any administrative hearings, arbitration panels, or similar tribunals, prepare forthwith such defense or appearance as the Director of Law determines appropriate.
   (b)   The Director of Law is authorized to incur such obligations financially for expenses reasonably connected to any suits or complaints as contemplated in subsection (a) hereof as are within the funds currently appropriated to the Department of Law.
   (c)   The Director of Law shall within not more than thirty days following his appearance in any such suit or controversy, make a written report to Council through the Clerk of Council, of any such legal action, indicating the parties to the action and the nature of the controversy.
