The City Fire Department shall develop the organization, programs, and procedures to effectively:
(a) Respond to incidents involving fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials, disaster situations and other emergencies involving possible loss of life, injury or damage to property.
(b) Establish a working relationship with all organizations, businesses and individuals in the community to identify hazardous situations, assist in developing solutions to reduce the hazards and provide education to the public on hazard prevention and safety matters.
In recognition of the expanding scope of services provided to the community, the City Fire Department shall be commonly known as and in this chapter referred to as the Fire/Rescue Division.
