(a) The owner or agent of any lot, land or structure located within the corporate limits and within 600 feet from a sanitary sewer adjacent to the property is required to install a sewer connection from his building to the sanitary sewer line.
(b) Each individual lot shall have its own house connection to the end that the drainage and plumbing system of a building shall be entirely separate and independent of that of any other building of another lot.
(c) The definition of a "house sewer connection" is a pipe conveying the sewage from a single building to a common sewer.
(d) The house sewer connection shall start at the wye branch in the main sewer or at a new connection in the sewer, then proceed in a line as straight as possible to the sewer pipe extending from the foundation of the building. The sewer invert grade shall be uniform to prevent any pockets or low places in the sewer pipe. The sewer invert grade shall not be less than one-eighth inch per foot.
(e) A six inch opening shall be installed in the house sewer near the foundation for the purpose of inspection and cleanout of the pipe. A removable cap shall be installed flush with the surface of the yard.
(f) No material may be used in any sewer, unless previously approved by the City Engineer. (Ord. 20-109. Passed 11-16-20.)
