A minor who is in violation of this subchapter shall be either detained until his or her parents are located, at which time the minor shall be released to the parents or shall be returned to the minor’s residence and released to his or her parents. The police officer on duty or the Marshal shall, in their discretion, also have all remedies and penalties available under I.C. 34-28-5 and 36-1-6 and any other sections relating to acts of juvenile delinquency.
