5-3-2: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE CAPTAIN:
   A.   Appointment; Oath, Bond: The Emergency Medical Service Captain, after election by the members of the ambulance service, shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Town Council. The Emergency Medical Service Captain shall hold office at the will and discretion of the Mayor, or until his successor has been duly appointed. The Captain of the ambulance service shall take and subscribe to an official oath, and shall file the oath with the Town Clerk, the oath to be the same as the oath taken by other officers of the Town except for additions and/or alterations as may be obviously necessary or desirable to render the oath suitable and adaptable to the intent of such officer and which may be authorized by the Town Council.
   B.   Powers And Duties: The Captain of the ambulance service shall be responsible for the discipline, good order and proper conduct of the entire service, and for the enforcement of all ordinances and regulations pertaining to it. He shall be responsible for the proper care of all emergency service apparatus, and all other property of the service in its charge. He shall have command and control over all officers and members of the service and all apparatus and other property of the service or in its charge, and he likewise shall have control of all persons present at emergencies.
