A. License Required: In the event a dog is brought within the town within the license (calendar) year, the owner or person having possession or custody of or harboring or giving shelter or refuge to such dog shall obtain a license for such dog as provided in this chapter.
B. Exceptions: The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any person visiting the district for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days, and owning, having possession or custody of or harboring or giving shelter to a dog currently licensed and bearing a license issued by another licensing authority. It shall be unlawful to have possession or custody of or to harbor or give shelter or refuge to any dog without a valid dog license. (1976 Code § 8.04.170)
