1-8-11: PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM:
   A.   Resolution Of Intent: The town council, on March 12, 1974, passed a resolution of intention calling for an election among the employees of the town on March 19, 1974, to determine whether the employees desired such retirement coverage; and at said election, twelve (12) of the sixteen (16) employees voted, and voted unanimously to join the Montana public employees retirement system. (1976 Code § 2.26.010)
   B.   Authorization: The council passed a resolution authorizing the mayor and town clerk to sign a contract carrying out the purpose of that resolution which authorizes the withholding of specified percentages of the wages of each employee and the payment of a specified percentage by the employer. (1976 Code § 2.26.020)
   C.   Execution Of Contract: It is ordained by the town council that the mayor and town clerk be authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the town, and to contract with the Montana public employees retirement service for such retirement plan, and to withhold from each covered employee the amount of wages specified by law, and to pay out of town funds the employer's share of such wages, all as specified in said contract.
