For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CANVASSER. Any person who seeks to disseminate any lawful message or who seeks to gather information regarding person's opinions by means of entering upon property used for residential purposes but not soliciting funds or donations, nor acts as a peddler.
CHARITABLE. Includes activities for patriotic, philanthropic, social service, welfare, benevolent, educational, civic, or fraternal purposes.
PEDDLER. Any person who seeks or obtains the sale of goods, wares, food or merchandise, for the immediate or future delivery or any person who in person as principal or agent sells or otherwise attempts to obtain orders or commitments for the sale, repair or exchange of goods, wares, food or merchandise, or services and does so by entering upon any property used for residential purposes.
POLITICAL. Includes activities supporting or opposing candidates for public office, expressing opinions regarding public officials and supporting or opposing issues of public interest.
RELIGIOUS or RELIGION. Shall be given their commonly accepted definitions.
SOLICITOR. Any person who obtains or seeks to obtain funds for any cause whatsoever by means of entering upon any property used for residential purposes.
