Council hereby creates the position of Assistant Fiscal Officer to the Village Fiscal Officer. Assistant Fiscal Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor of the Village of Terrace Park, but that appointment shall not become effective until it is approved by a majority vote of the Village Legislative Authority. The Assistant Fiscal Officer need not be an elector of the village and it is hereby approved by this section that the Assistant Fiscal Officer's residence may be outside the village. The compensation for the Assistant Fiscal Officer shall be established by the Council. The Assistant Fiscal Officer appointed under this section shall perform the duties as directed by the Village Fiscal Officer. All such duties shall be consistent with the nature of the office of Fiscal Officer and which are provided for by Municipal Ordinance.
