It shall be unlawful for any person to burn or cause to be burned any, garbage, waste, packing material, trash, discarded boxes or other materials within the town limits without having first obtained special written permission from the town. The town shall grant such permission if, in his opinion, the burning of the above described materials can be accomplished without danger to adjoining property or undue contamination to the air in the vicinity. The town shall not be held to assume any liability by reason of having granted permission to burn any of the materials mentioned herein if such burning should cause damage to other person's property. The permission granted shall be valid for only forty eight (48) hours from the time of issuance. (1986 Code § 10-101; amd. 2012 Code)
