7-1-10: FIRE HYDRANT USAGE:
   A.   All hydrants erected by the town for the purpose of use in extinguishing fires are hereby declared to be public hydrants; and no person, other than members of the fire department, and then only for use and purpose of such department, or persons specially authorized by the chief operator, and then only in the exercise of the authority delegated by the chief operator, shall open any of such hydrants, or attempt to draw water therefrom, or in any manner interfere therewith. No person authorized to open fire hydrants shall delegate his authority to another.
   B.   All abandoned, disconnected and/or nonserviceable hydrants shall be removed from public view and shall not be visible from the street, alleyway, sidewalk or public right of way. (Ord. 179, 10-5-2010)
