7-1-8: PLUMBING DESIGN AND MAINTENANCE; NONLIABILITY OF TOWN:
   A.   All house boilers shall be constructed with one or more air holes near the top of the inlet pipe and sufficiently strong to bear the pressure of the atmosphere under vacuum. All new construction shall include a thermal expansion tank and all existing construction shall be aware that there is backflow prevention on all service lines at the meter box or where the service line leaves the town main. All interior plumbing must be installed and maintained in accordance with relevant standard plumbing codes.
   B.   The stopcocks, plumbing and other appurtenances must be designed and maintained so as to bear the pressure and run off the water in the mains. All persons taking water shall keep their own service lines, stopcocks and apparatus in good repair, protect them from frost at their own expense, and shall prevent all unnecessary waste of water. No claim for damage shall be sustainable against the town or any of its officials or representatives by reason of the failure of the system of a consumer. The town reserves the right to shut off the water supply at any time at its discretion, for the purpose of maintenance or repair, and neither it nor its officials or representatives shall be liable for damages occasioned thereby.
