It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate or drive any motor vehicle upon any highway, street or alley in the town after dusk without two (2) headlights and at least one taillight, said lights to be in perfect working order at all times. It shall be unlawful to operate or drive or run the engine of any motor vehicle in the corporate limits of the town with the muffler cutout open or disconnected; and further, it shall be unlawful to unnecessarily run or race the motor with the cutout open. Each and every motor vehicle shall be equipped with brakes that shall be in good working order at all times. (1986 Code § 24-301; amd. 2012 Code)
