(A) It shall be unlawful for any owner or occupant of any premises within the city to permit or allow any tree or branch thereof, growing upon his or her premises, or along the street, alley or sidewalk adjoining his or her premises, to rest against or come in contact with any electric light wire, globe, light or transformer belonging to the city, or in any way interfere with the wires, globes, lights or transformers.
(B) It shall be the duty of the Superintendent of the Electric Light Plant to examine all electric light wires, globes, lights and transformers within and belonging to the city, and ascertain if any tree of branch thereof is in any way interfering or may interfere with the wires, globes, lights or transformers. The Superintendent or the employees of the city working under him or her shall have the right to enter upon any premises within the city and cut away any part of any tree or trees that are interfering or may interfere with any wires, globes, lights or transformers.
(C) It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to meddle or interfere with any of the electric lights, wires or transformers of the city without authority to do so.
(D) It shall be unlawful for any person to hitch or fasten any horse or animal to any post forming a part of the city’s lighting system.
(E) Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be fined.
