The Board of Public Works and Safety is hereby authorized to designate and maintain, by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway for crosswalks at intersections, where, in its opinion, there is particular danger to pedestrians crossing the roadway, and at any other places as it may deem necessary.
