State statutes allow a county to provide for the public health, safety, and general welfare. This provision allows the county to establish reasonable standards of design for subdivisions, including requirements for roads and alleys, easements for public service facilities, surface drainage and stormwater control, sewer and water facilities, and public grounds such as parks and school sites.
