5-2-6: TRAINING:
Auxiliary policemen, prior to entering upon any of their duties, shall receive a course of training in the use of weapons and other police procedures as shall be appropriate in the exercise of the powers conferred upon them under chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, which training and course of study shall be determined and provided by the City. The City, at this time, deems it appropriate that auxiliary members be required to complete the same hiring process as required for full-time officers. The screening process would include 1) background information, 2) oral interview, 3) psychological examination, and 4) medical examination. (Ord. 2361, 10-16-89)
