The City does hereby establish an auxiliary police force for the City. The Mayor may, with the advice and consent of the City Council, appoint up to four (4) auxiliary policemen. At this time, the City Council deems a maximum of four (4) auxiliary policemen to be necessary.
Such auxiliary policemen shall not be members of the regular Police Department of the City and shall not supplement members of the regular Police Department of the City in the performance of their assigned and normal duties, except as provided for in Section 5-2-3 of this Chapter.
