The city may place and maintain such traffic control devices and pavement markings on streets, highways, trails, bike paths, alleys, public parking areas, private roads, and maintenance roads, as are necessary to indicate and to carry out the provisions of this title or to regulate, warn or guide traffic. All signs, markings and other devices shall conform with all applicable rules and standards, including, but not limited to, the "Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices", as amended, and any supplements.
