The following terms shall have the following meanings for purposes of this chapter:
AUTHORIZED PERSON: A police officer, sheriff, deputy sheriff, emergency services personnel, animal control officer, maintenance personnel, or government employee or contractor on official business.
DIVISION AND DIRECTOR: Shall have the same meaning as those terms are defined in title 8 of this code.
MOTOR VEHICLE: An automobile, truck, tote goat, motorcycle, motorbike, snowmobile, low profile vehicle, motor assisted scooter, pocket bike, minimotorcycle, go-cart, and any and all other self-propelled motor vehicles. Motor vehicle does not include a vehicle designed for use by a person with a disability.
OFF LEASH AREA: An enclosed, fenced parcel of real property located within a park that has been set apart where dogs do not need to be under the immediate physical control of their owners or persons charged with the care, custody, or control of the dogs by means of a leash, tether, or other physical control device.
PARKS OR PARK: A parcel of real property that is owned, leased, or controlled by the city that has been set apart for the use of general public as a park, whether developed or undeveloped.
SCOOTER: Any nonmotorized device consisting of two (2) or more wheels affixed to a platform or footboard upon which the rider stands and which has a handle or other mechanism at the front for holding or guiding the device. It also includes every device generally recognized as a scooter but does not include a bicycle.
SKATEBOARD: Any nonmotorized device consisting of two (2) or more wheels affixed to a platform or footboard upon which a rider stands and which does not have steering capabilities similar to that of a bicycle and does not have brakes which operate on or upon the wheels of the skateboard and includes every device generally recognized as a skateboard.
SKATEBOARD PARK: An enclosed, fenced parcel of real property that is located within a park that has been set apart for skateboards.
UNAUTHORIZED PERSON: Any person who is not an authorized person. (Ord. 06-06, 2-15-2006)
