The Naming Committee shall consider the following before recommending to the City Council the name of a public place:
A. An adjacent street to the public place;
B. Predominant physical or geographic features (such as ponds, rivers, creeks, etc.) in or adjacent to the public place;
C. The subdivision in which the public place is located;
D. A State or nationally recognized person who has improved the quality of life for the public;
E. A significant historic feature or event;
F. An individual or group who has made exceptional contributions to the City that include:
1. Donating or contributing a significant amount of money for the acquisition and/or development of public places;
2. Providing significant volunteer services;
G. Local government officials will only be considered after such official has been out of office for a minimum of five (5) years;
H. Public places shall only be renamed for good cause. (Ord. 17-22, 11-15-2017)
