The Chief of Police is hereby charged with the duty of investigating the facts stated in the application and he shall report his findings thereon in writing to the Town Board of Commissioners. The Town Board of Commissioners shall have the authority to require any further investigation it deems necessary, or to hold a hearing upon the application after giving such notice as it shall prescribe to the applicant.
