ADOPTING ORDINANCE
Ordinance 98-18
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TAOS, TAOS NEW MEXICO, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, IS HEREBY ADOPTED. (WHEREAS, THE BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY, SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, HAS COMPILED, EDITED, AND PUBLISHED A CODIFICATION OF THE PERMANENT AND GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF TAOS:)
BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TAOS:
   Section 1. Adoption. Adopted by the Council of the Town of Taos at a Regular Meeting on July 21, 1998.
   Section 2. Title Citation-Reference. That this code shall be known as the "Town of Taos Municipal Code," and it shall be sufficient to refer to said code as the "Town of Taos Municipal Code", in any prosecution for the violation of any provision of this code or in any proceeding at law or equity. It is sufficient to designate any ordinance adding to, amending, correcting or appealing all or any part or portion of this code as an addition to. Amending to, correction or repealing all or any part or portion of this code as an addition to, amendment to, correction or repeal of the "Town of Taos Municipal Code", references may be made to the titles, chapters, sections, and subsections of the "Town of Taos Municipal Code" and such references shall apply to those titles, chapters, sections, and subsections as they appear in the code.
   Section 3. Reference applies to all amendments. Whenever a reference is made to this code as the "Town of Taos Municipal Code" or to any portion thereof, or to any ordinance or the city/town of Town of Taos codified herein, the reference shall apply to all amendments, corrections and additions heretofore, now or hereafter made.
   Section 4. Title, Chapter, and Section. Title, chapter and section headings contained in this code shall not be deemed to govern, limit, modify or in any manner affect the scope, meaning or intent of the provisions of any title, chapter, or section of this code.
   Section 5. Reference to specific ordinances. The provisions of this code shall not in any manner affect matters of record which refer to, or are otherwise connected with ordinances which are therein specifically designated by number otherwise and which are included within the code, but such reference shall be constructed to apply to the corresponding provisions contained within this code.
   Section 6. Ordinances passed prior to the adoption of the code. The last ordinances included in this code was ordinance 98-5 passed 2-3-98. The following ordinances, passed subsequent to Ordinance 98-5, but prior to adoption of this code, are adopted and made a part of this code: Ordinances 98-6 thru 98-17.
The effective date of these provisions shall be five days following the notice of adoption of the ordinance by the Town Council.
