(a) When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no traction engine or steam roller and no other vehicle, load, object or structure, whether propelled by muscular or motor power, not including vehicles run upon stationary rails or tracks or fire engines, fire trucks or other vehicles or apparatus belonging to the Fire Department, the Volunteer Fire Department or used by such Department in the discharge of its functions, shall be operated or moved over or upon, or parked upon, any part of any Municipal parking lot in the City, upon wheels, rollers, or otherwise, weighing in excess of 6,000 pounds, including the weight of vehicle, object, structure or contrivance and load.
(b) The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to determine what part of any municipal parking lot shall be restricted to the maximum weight of 6,000 pounds as provided in subsection (a) hereof, and he shall erect signs giving notice thereof.

(c) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
