(a) Nominations for elective office of the Municipality shall be made only by petition filed with the election authorities ninety (90) days prior to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
(b) The name of any qualified elector of the City shall be placed upon the election ballot for nomination as a candidate for Mayor when there shall have been filed with the election authorities signed by not less than one hundred (100) nor more than two hundred (200) electors of the City, and for City Council when there shall have been filed with the election authorities a petition signed by not less than fifty (50) nor more than one hundred (100) electors of the City.
(c) The nominating petition shall contain a statement of candidacy, which shall designate a committee to represent the candidate. Both the nominating petition and statement of candidacy shall be substantially in the form prescribed by the State of Ohio for nominating petitions generally, and shall be signed, circulated and filed in accordance with the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code.
