(a) The Chief of Police or his designee may refer cases involving juvenile offenders into the Juvenile Diversion Program. Participation in the Juvenile Diversion Program will be confidential. A fee of $195.00 may be assessed to program participants to defer the costs and expenses incurred by the operation of and participation in this Program. The Chief of Police or his designee may waive any fee, either using his or her discretion or when the parties are unable to pay. The Chief of Police or his designee retains the right to remove any individual from the program for any cause.
(b) All of the proceedings and informational items regarding the juvenile and his/her family are confidential and not a matter of public record.
