2-9-1: BOARD ESTABLISHED:
There shall be a board of library directors for the city as provided by law 1 . The board shall consist of nine (9) directors to be appointed by the mayor by and with the advice and consent of the council, and not more than one director shall be a member of the city council. (1988 Code §7.501)
