9-4-11: NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE:
The following sections of the National Electrical Code, 2014 Edition are hereby revised as follows:
In all chapters and sections, where "name of jurisdiction" and/or "chief appointing authority of the jurisdiction" is written, insert "City of Sycamore."
LISTING; LABELING: All electrical equipment shall be listed and labeled by a third-party agency to U.S. standards.
Add 210.8(A)(5) Exception. Sump Pumps/Ejector Pumps. All sump pumps and ejector pumps shall be served by a simplex receptacle and no GFCI protection is required.
210.10(C)(3) Bathroom Branch Circuits. Clarified. The 20 A GFCI circuit required in bathrooms shall serve a single bathroom.
Add 210.19(A)(5). Microwave Circuits. All microwaves shall be served by a 20A dedicated circuit.
250.53(A)(2) Supplemental Electrode Required. Delete the Exception. A second ground rod shall be required.
ADD 300.1(D) Mixed use and occupancy buildings. The entire mixed use and occupancy building shall be wired by the most restrictive code.
314.27(A)(2) Ceiling Outlets. In addition to existing wording. In all habitable rooms with a ceiling fixture (other than recessed fixtures, smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors), a box rated for ceiling fan support shall be installed.
320 Armored Cable: Type AC. Delete in its entirety.
330 Metal-Clad Cable: Type MC. Delete in its entirety.
338 Service-Entrance Cable; Type SE and USE. Delete in its entirety.
334.10 (1-5) Uses permitted. Amended as follows: Type NM, Type NMC, and 334.10 Uses Permitted. Type NM, Type NMC, and Type NMS shall be permitted only in R-2, R-3, and R-4 structures (as defined by the International Building Code) not exceeding three floors above grade.
