There is hereby created and established the office of County Building Commissioner. The Building Commissioner shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. He or she shall not be actively engaged in the construction field or related activities, (including real estate sales, development, or rentals), within the county during his or her employment as Building Commissioner. The Executive Director of the County Area Plan Commission may be appointed and serve as the Building Commissioner.
